What happens during T3’s Athlete Training Classes?

A training session for our Elite, Intermediate or Combined groups usually includes

  • Dynamic Warm-Up: Athletes prepare their bodies for performance through moves that activate muscles and improve mobility.

  • Speed Training: Class members engage in sprints and other high-performance speed and agility drills to help them move more economically.

  • Power Block: We train players to be more explosive through proven techniques.

  • Foundational Strength: Athletes perform strength lifts under supervision, with technique and form being first priority.

  • Athlete-Specific Modifications: We adapt sessions for individuals who are in-season or out-of-season depending on their sport or other goals.

Our daughter trains with Heather C. at T3 and we couldn’t be happier. She has provided her with the tools to be successful even outside of sports. it has been amazing to see how her confidence has grown.

FAQs about Intermediate and Elite Athlete Training

  • Classes are 90 minutes long. The first 15-20 minutes are the dynamic warm-up. Speed training accounts for the second 15-20 minutes. Then we spend 15-20 minutes on our power block. We then invest the final 30 minutes or so into foundational strength.

  • We offer Intermediate, Elite or combined Athlete Training classes every day of the week, all year round.

During the school year, we offer about 20 different options for classes per week, all conveniently scheduled outside of school hours. You can see all of those options right now. Just click here to see our current schedule.

Additional class times become available during the summer.

With our Unlimited Monthly Membership, an athlete can attend as many of these classes as they like, at whatever times work best.

  • Classes are led by our staff of qualified trainers — many of whom hold multiple degrees and/or certifications in fields related to weightlifting and exercise science. Several of our coaches are USA Weightlifting certified, and can help athletes learn Olympic lifts, which are proven to help athletes increase strength, power output, speed and vertical jump.

  • Yes, all training sessions can and will be modified as needed to meet an athlete’s needs. Each exercise can be made more or less challenging based on the individual’s ability or experience.

Studies show that even young athletes who have not gone through puberty can lift safely with proper supervision and coaching and it will not stunt their growth. Younger athletes will gain better coordination, strength and motor patterns, while older athletes build lean muscle, speed and power.

  • We offer classes T3 athletes every day of the week, and members can attend as many classes as they’d like.

We generally see athletes get results with as little as 2 training days per week. Therefore we recommend new athletes start by training 2-4 days per week, depending on their availability.

For older athletes — especially those training to pursue an athlete career in college or beyond — we suggest training up to 3-4 days per week.

We understand that athletes are often busy with practices or team lifting sessions, We take their weekly work load into account when individualizing training sessions, and help fill any gaps in their team’s training protocol.

T3 Athlete Training Success Stories

“Each trainer at T3 takes time to help athletes in their group, push them to be their best, and truly cares about their growth.”

-Molly Harrison, Volleyball, University of Cincinnati

I’ve been training at T3 for almost 7 years and they have been a huge component for my development in my professional career. The coaches take the time to work with you on an individual level and push you in the weight room to reach your goals.”

-Tim Gettinger, formerly New York Rangers organization, currently Detroit Red Wings organization.

“My favorite thing about T3 is their emphasis on in-season lifting. I think most young athletes, including myself, growing up do not understand the necessity of working out in-season especially as a one-sport athlete. I began to realize the importance of year-round lifting, especially in injury prevention and not losing strength/speed that I built in the off season — which can be easy to do when in season.”

-Sam Wiene, Soccer, University of Houston

“The trainers challenge you in the weight room, but also explain the benefits of what we are doing and how it will benefit us in the long run. They want to see you grow and be your best.”

-Peyton Rimko, Soccer, University of Kentucky
