T3 PERFORMANCE ATHLETE STORIES
Mike Shoaf, Junior at Rocky River, was the champion in Shot Put at the 2018 OATCCC State Indoor Championships. He took 1st place with a throw of 61' 1.5". He is also the #2 ranked Junior thrower in the nation and will be competing at the New Balance Nationals elite division March 9-11 in New York City.
Hannah Sedlak, a Senior at Avon High School, took 10th place on Shot Put at the OATCCC Indoor State Championship track meet. Hannah moved up 5 places in the State ranking.
Special recognition to all of our T3 Barbell athletes who competed in the Pittsburgh Open Weightlifting Championships in January. All of our T3 Barbell lifters that competed earned a silver or gold medal in their age and weight class!
Kendall Ostrander: Weight Class: 44 kg, Total: 51 kg, Snatch: 24, Clean and Jerk 27 kg (first competition)
Kayla Jessie: Weight Class: 53 kg, Total: 78 kg, Snatch 32 kg, Clean and Jerk: 46 kg (PR)
Izzy Gallo: Weight Class: 63 kg, Total 110 kg, Snatch 48 kg, Clean and Jerk: 62 kg (PRs across the board)
Maddi Palek: Weight Class 63 kg, Total 97 kg, Snatch 42 kg and Clean and Jerk 55 kg (first time lifter and PR total!)
Mason Wheeler: 62 kg went 6/6 and set an Ohio State record for youth 62 kg lifters with a 65 kg Snatch. Also hit a PR in Clean and Jerk at 75 kg with a 140 kg Total
Michale Baseck: 77 kg Lifter went 5/6 with at 80 kg Snatch and 110 kg Clean and Jerk. Hit a total PR and a massive 10 kg PR on the Clean and Jerk
James DiBiasio: 77 kg lifter snatched 92 kg and Clean and Jerk 122 kg with a 214 total good enough for 2nd place.
Lacrosse player Megan Young, freshman Bay High School, played attack for Midwestern Force Club, and was named to the All-Ohio Team this summer while competing at the Brine National Classic. Megan had a stellar performance at the OSU Lacrosse camp where she gained the attention of the OSU coaching staff.
Megan credits T3 with helping her build the strength, speed and stamina to compete at the highest level throughout these tournaments. Megan’s goal is to keep working hard and position herself to play Division 1 lacrosse in college.
St. Edward graduate and Avon native, Mitch O’Hara is continuing his football career at the University of Mount Union. Mitch is starting on kick and punt coverage teams and seeing time at linebacker in his freshman campaign. T3 Performance is the official strength and conditioning organization for the university.
Nick Mazzola, 2016 Avon High School graduate and T3 Performance alumni, was part of the Challenger Crew Juniors Gold 98 team which won the U19/20 National title at the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship in Frisco, Texas this summer. Nick had a crucial goal in group play that allowed the team to advance to the semi final round. The team was victorious in its semi-final game and met West Coast Haney from California in the final match and posted a decisive 4-0 win. The team will have its name etched on the oldest trophy in youth sports, the James P. McGuire Cup, which will eventually be housed in the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame. The Challenger Crew team is the first Ohio boys' team to win a U.S. Youth Soccer National Title.
Nick is entering his sophomore year at St. Bonaventure University where he play defense for the Men's Soccer team. Nick received All-Ohio, Greater Cleveland and Lorain County player honors while playing at Avon.
Seth Wilson led Team Ohio against Team Michigan in the prestigious Ohio versus Michigan all-star game (2021) and the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase. Seth is widely considered to be the top rising freshman in Ohio. Seth will be playing at Akron St. Vincent St. Mary program this year.
T3 Barbell members Izzy Gallo, Kayla Jessie, Derek Tackett and Matt Avdey competed in the Ohio State Championships in Canfield, Ohio. Matt won first place for the Jr. 77kg division with a nationally qualifying total of 203kg. Derek took second with a total of 181kg. Izzy finished first in the 53kg Jr. division and Kayla took second.
